Man Convicted of Capital Murder, Co-Defendant Guilty of Murder

Dedrick Bonner has been convicted of capital murder in the death of Jerry Paul James in April of last year at Regency Studio Apartments.

Donnell Dilworth was also found guilty, but of murder, a lesser charge.

The jury brought the guilty verdicts back after a 5 hour deliberation. They were unanimous in their decisions.

Bonner was convicted of first-degree aggravated assault for shooting Alleceia Stephney in the incident that found James dead from his gunshot wound.

First Assistant Criminal District Attorney Eli Garza indicated that they are fighting a culture of not cooperating with police at Regency Studio Apartments.
